Turbidity refers to the cloudiness of water caused by suspension of fine particles that are typically invisible to the naked eye. It is measured in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU). Following filtration procedures, turbidity measures should be taken daily to ensure it does not exceed 0.5 NTU, as it can pose a safety concern if the water becomes too cloudy. The cloudier the water, the higher the turbidity measure will be.
